Singaraja – Department of History, Sociology, and Libraries, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University is again holding a National Seminar. The national seminar held on Friday (23/06) had the theme, “GPT Chat: Solutions or Threats in Independent Learning, Independent Curriculum, and Independent Campuses. This national seminar was opened directly by the Head of the History, Sociology, and Library Department, Ketut Sedana Arta, S.Pd., M.Pd. At the opening of this national seminar, Prof. Dr. I Made Pageh, M.Hum., as Deputy Dean II FHIS Undiksha and Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M. as Head of the Law and Citizenship Department, FHIS Undiksha.
The national seminar began with a presentation of material by Prof. Dr. Sukadi, M.Pd., M.Ed. the Main Speaker who also serves as Dean of FHIS Undiksha. He explained about GPT Chat, and how GPT Chat can actually help with everyday problems, including problems in the world of education. But he also said that using Chat GPT requires caution because it can also be a threat in its use. Apart from that, three resource persons were also present, namely Prof. Ir. Linawati, M.Eng., SC., Ph.D. who is one of the lecturers from Udayana University. He explained his material online via the Zoom Meeting application. As the next resource person, namely Prof. Dr. Luh Putu Sendratari, M. Hum. who is also a lecturer in the Department of History, Sociology and Libraries, FHIS Undiksha. Similar to Prof. Sukadi, Prof. Sendratari said that we also need to pay attention to the threat of using GPT chat amidst the rapid development of the times and technology. For the final resource person, I Nyoman Laba Jayanta, S.Pd., M.Pd. as one of the academics from Ganesha University of Education. He also explained the technical use of Chat GPT. During the seminar, the resource person was guided directly by the moderator, namely Irwan Nur, S.Sos., M.Pd. who is a lecturer from the Department of History, Sociology and Libraries.
This national seminar, which was held in a hybrid manner, was attended by students from the History, Sociology, and Library departments as well as lecturers from these departments. Both students and lecturers were very enthusiastic about listening to the presentation of material from the resource person. Several students who attended in person and participated online also asked questions during the discussion session. This national seminar activity ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the resource person which was handed over directly by the Head of the History, Sociology and Library Department.
