Singaraja – Geography Study Program (S1) Geography Department FHIS Undiksha carried out FGD activities for Preparing the Vision and Mission of the Study Program on Wednesday (31/01/24). As a newly established study program, the Geography Study Program FGD activity was held to develop the study program and prepare study program form documents in anticipation of accreditation which will be held shortly.
The FGD activity which took place in the International Classroom was welcomed with guidance by I Gede Yudi Wisnawa, S.Pd., M.Sc. as Head of the Geography Department. After that, the FGD was opened directly by the Dean of FHIS Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suastika, S.Pd., M.Pd. with directions. Prof. Suastika hopes that this activity can create a vision and mission that suits the needs of the study program and can be realized promptly and not just wishful thinking for the study program. The FGD activity continued with the presentation of the Geography Study Program’s Vision and Mission by the Study Program Coordinator, I Gede Putu Eka Suryana, S.Pd., M.Sc.
Followed by the core activity, the FGD activity for Preparing the Vision and Mission for the Geography Study Program, accompanied by lecturer Wayan Damar Windu Kurniawan, S.Si., M.Sc. as moderator. Starting with the First Speaker, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Putu Sriartha, M.S. explains current issues regarding science. Apart from that, Prof. Sriartha said that the vision and mission were prepared in harmony with the vision and mission of the faculty and university and could be realized within a clear time. After that, it was continued with the second speaker, Dr. Margaretha Widyastuti, M.T. from Gadjah Mada University who had the opportunity to share as the Quality Assurance Unit of the UGM Faculty of Geography. Dr. Margaretha said that in preparing the study program’s vision and mission, all basic aspects must be taken into account. Apart from that, Dr. Margaret hopes that the existing vision must be by action and implementation to achieve the study program’s goals.
After that, this FGD was also filled with discussions with FGD participants which were attended by the Deputy Dean, Geography Department Lecturers, Geography Department student representatives, and stakeholders. Several researchers who are present online, such as Dr. Indyo Pratomo, Researcher and Geologist from Bandung, and Heri Ismanto from BMKG also provided views regarding the current environmental situation which can serve as a guide for formulating the study program’s vision and mission.
