Singaraja- During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Law and Citizenship Department Student Association (HMJ) at Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) carried out cleaning activities at Kerobokan Beach, Singaraja, Tuesday (1/6/2021). This activity is entitled “Human and Environment Harmony”. On the same day, this student organization also scattered flowers at the Curastana Heroes’ Cemetery, Singaraja, to commemorate the birthday of Pancasila. This activity is with the theme “Activating Students towards Pancasila in Building the Millennial Generation”.
Chairman of HMJ, Ketut Ade Candra Guna Pratama, conveyed that beach cleaning is an effort to raise awareness of the environment, especially coastal and marine areas to maintain a good ecosystem.
This is to create a balanced life of harmony between the environment and human life.
Meanwhile, the flower-sowing activity is intended to commemorate the services of the heroes as a form of appreciation for their services in defending the Republic of Indonesia. “This is also to increase our sense of nationalism and patriotism towards the heroes who have fought,” he said.
Head of the Department of Law and Citizenship, Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M., hopes that this activity can be carried out sustainably and its reach can be wider. “We hope that the activities carried out by students can provide benefits to society and provide motivation,” he said. It was further explained that this community service program is one of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Therefore, it is appropriate to continue rolling it out. “Including education and teaching as well as research, it can also be carried out by students. “So that the Tri Dharma of Higher Education can be fully implemented,” he hoped.
In particular, this academic from Panji Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng invited the entire younger generation to continue to foster a spirit of nationalism and uphold Pancasila. “The millennial generation must understand the values contained in Pancasila. “This is also important to create harmony,” he concluded.
