Singaraja, 22 October 2021 at the Seminar Room of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University again held an offline workshop while still implementing health protocols, this time with the theme “E-learning for Lecturers, Staff and Students of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Education University Ganesha.” This activity was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, namely Prof. Sukadi, M.Pd., M Ed. and this workshop was guided by Mr. Dr. I Nengah Suastika, S.Pd., M.Pd. who is Deputy Dean I of FHIS Udiksha.
This workshop also invited two resource persons, namely Made Astika, S.Pd. M.M. as Head of the Buleleng Regency Education, Youth and Sports Service and Dr. I Gde Wawan Sudatha, S.Pd., S.T., M.Pd. is an academic who is a Lecturer in the Educational Technology Education Study Program at Ganesha Education University. This activity was attended by representatives of lecturers, students, and employees of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences whose numbers were following the health protocols.
This activity aims to provide knowledge about the benefits of e-learning and its implementation in education today (during the Covid 19 pandemic) and in the future.
Made Astika in the workshop conveyed the implementation of e-learning in independent learning, during this pandemic, the use of e-learning has become mandatory in educational units. The Ministry of Education and Culture has published a learning account which is an electronic account with the domain Belajar. id. This account can be used by students, educators, and teaching staff. The learning account aims to support learning activities from home during the pandemic and to support learning in educational units through the application of technology and information. Made Astika also mentioned that the Student Account can be used by elementary school students, Package A Program grades 5 and 6, Middle School, Package B Program from grades 7 to 9, SMA, Package C Program from grades 10 to 12, and SMK SLB. Apart from students, educators and teaching staff can also use learning accounts. The Ministry of Education and Culture suggests using learning accounts in primary and secondary education because learning accounts will be one of the official communication channels between the ministry, students, educators, and teaching staff.
During the pandemic and in making independent learning a success, the central government continues to optimize the Belajar.id account, introducing a learning management system. The local government, especially in Bueleng, has supported this by optimizing the development of platforms such as classroom.com, Buleleng Education Expose.com, etc.
In contrast to Made Astika who mostly explained the e-learning system in primary and secondary education, Gde Wawan Sudatha explained the use of e-learning in higher education, namely at Ganesha Educational University College. Gde Wawan Sudatha stated that before the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the use of e-learning in Undiksha was only small, but after the outbreak of COVID-19, there were quite a lot of e-learning users in Undiksha. Covid 19 has influenced the acceleration of the use of technology and information, which was initially very comfortable in face-to-face learning, now we have been forced to utilize technology. Research on learning using the face-to-face method has indeed been proven to be effective in learning, but with the Covid 19 outbreak, we are all required to continue to use technology. Therefore, students as prospective teachers must learn more, continue to explore learning methods and collaborate with ICT in learning. Professional teachers must be able to design innovative and communicative learning, design effective learning designs, and provide facilities by collaborating with technology. Design all of this so that learning is effective. These are things that need to be prepared to become a future teacher.
At the end of this workshop activity, it was closed by handing over mementos by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences to the two resource persons who had presented the material. (hms)
