E-Ganesha was officially launched by the Chancellor of Undiksha, on Monday, July 17, 2017. E-Ganesha is a large, effective system to accommodate the activities of the entire community in the Undiksha environment. Located in Ganesha Room 3 which was attended by the Chancellor of Undiksha (Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd.), Deputy Chancellor I (Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Arnyana, M.Si), Deputy Chancellor III (Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes), and Chair of the Undiksha ICT UPT (Kadek Yota Ernanda Aryanto, S.Kom., M.T., Ph.D.) as well as all Deans, Heads of Departments/Heads of Study Programs, and Faculty IT Teams within Undiksha.
In his speech, the Chancellor of Undiksha said that this system should be able to become a beautiful and comfortable “home” because it has been carefully designed by experts and professionals in their field. However, there still needs to be participation from all parties to fill in and run this system.
The creation of this system was motivated by the difficulty of obtaining data centrally that is valid and consistent, so a database is needed which is the center of the information system or application at Undiksha. This system will be able to cover all campus elements such as leaders, lecturers, staff and students, including parents, stakeholders, and the community.
With this system, the data at Undiksha becomes more structured, integrated, valid, and consistent. This system can be developed by anyone as long as they coordinate with UPT ICT. E-Ganesha can also save time and costs, for example, access to data searches is easier and faster and the development of existing systems becomes more organized. The systems that have been developed are the Single Sign On (SSO) system, Undiksha Lecturer Data and Profiles, Undiksha Employee Data and Profiles, Performance Systems, Lecturer SKP and BKD Systems, Legal and Management Application Systems, and the Undiksha Data Center.
Other systems that have been integrated with E-Ganesha are PPL, Ganesha Scholar, and SIAK. Meanwhile, systems that are still under development include Student Database, Student Admission System, SIAK Next Generation Development, Credit Score Assessment, Executive Dashboard, Notification Center, Employee Performance Monitoring System, E-Office, Mobile Application, Inventory System, and Remuneration. Even though the production went smoothly, trials are still needed to find out the problems that might occur when using E-Ganesha. Thus, it is hoped that with the existence of E-Ganesha, Undiksha can prepare 2018 as the year of ICT, and can raise the image and grade of Ganesha University of Education in the higher education arena on the national and international stage.
