Singaraja- The Undiksha Legal Studies Program provides opportunities for students to get to know the world of work to improve skills and competitiveness. This is demonstrated through the Legal Skills and Proficiency Practice (PKKH) program.
In this program, 7th-semester students are allowed to implement PKKH spread across several legal agencies both inside and outside the Bali region, such as the Banyuwangi DPRD Office, Singaraja District Court, Buleleng District Prosecutor’s Office, Bali Police, Buleleng Religious Court, Police Buleleng Resort, Amlapura District Court, Immigration Office and various other legal offices such as Advocate’s Office and Notary’s Office.
Coordinator of the Legal Studies Program, Ni Putu Rai Yuliartini, S.H., M.H., at the farewell and withdrawal event for PKKH Students at the Buleleng District Attorney’s Office, Friday (6/10/2020) explained that this program is to provide students with the opportunity to get to know the world of work that they will later be involved in when already holds a bachelor’s degree. “Through this, they will get earlier experience,” she explained.
It was further stated that through this, students are also expected to learn to be more responsible and disciplined. “We hope that with student participation in this program, apart from introducing students to the world of work, it also educates students to be disciplined and responsible when entering society,” she stressed.
The Head of the Law and Citizenship Department, Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M., said that this program is a medium for training students’ skills and abilities to form very important character as a preparation when entering the world of work. “So students don’t just have to master academic knowledge. But also character. “This is important to face competition,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Intelligence at the Buleleng District Prosecutor’s Office, Anak Agung Ngurah Jayalantara S.H., M.H.. who represented the Head of the Buleleng District Prosecutor’s Office, revealed that in this program students had succeeded in adapting to the work environment, even though the time given was relatively short, namely two months. “However “Moreover, students can get to know the world of work optimally, as evidenced by the large number of jobs we have helped them with,” he explained.
One of the students, Ni Putu Wulan Noviarini, appreciated this program because it was able to provide space to apply and increase the knowledge gained in lectures. “With this program, my friends and I feel very helpful because there are many things we can learn in this place that we haven’t learned when studying in the classroom. “Because theory must also be balanced with practice, then we will feel like we understand,” she said.
