The whole world is facing difficult times due to the COVID-19 case, where this case shows quite high intensity. This can be seen from the data released by the Indonesian Government that every day there is an increase in cases. To date, or as of March 30, 2020, there have been 1,285 reported cases with 1,107 being treated, 114 people have died and 64 people have recovered. We hope that in the future many patients will recover and we can get through this difficult time.
The Indonesian government has issued a policy implementing social distancing (reducing activities or activities outside the home). This aims to reduce contact with other people and slow the spread of the Coronavirus. The hope is that the number of cases will not increase again. In essence, only by maintaining distance can we reduce the transmission of Covid-19.
While trying to handle this case, the government has issued policies to provide convenience for the affected communities. For example, the government provides incentives to medical personnel and doctors because they are at the forefront of handling COVID-19 cases. Then, the government provided credit relief for MSMEs and all those affected by the Covid-19 case.
Hopefully, this policy can run well and not encounter obstacles in the field so that it can help society as a whole. With the continued increase in positive Corona cases, the government must take quick and appropriate steps to reduce existing cases and immediately protect its citizens.
The government must immediately take advantage of its existing role, for example by educating the public about the dangers of this virus and how to deal with this virus by living a healthy lifestyle, washing your hands, not traveling unless it is urgent, and trying to stay at home. Of course, this must be supported by the community by following government recommendations and not violating them. With this, we can inhibit the transmission of Covid-19.READ Tuban Traditional Village Cancels Ogoh-ogoh Parade
The role of villages needs to be encouraged and empowered by the government to reduce cases that arise. The government has done this by instructing it to use village funds to educate people in villages regarding handling COVID-19 cases. The government has issued circular number 8 of 2020 regarding villages responding to COVID-19 and affirming village cash-intensive work. This means that in implementing the COVID-19 response village and implementing the village’s cash-intensive work, village funds are used.
Of course, this policy is good for helping villages deal with reducing the transmission of the Coronavirus. By using village funds, we can strengthen the foundations of the economy through intensive village cash work and strengthening public health by preventing and handling COVID-19. The government must immediately anticipate the surge in homecoming by the Indonesian people. Because, even though several regional heads have appealed to their people not to return to their hometowns, there are still those who do this.
Of course, this can be dangerous and has the potential for transmission of the Coronavirus. It is possible that transmission occurred quickly because social distancing was not respected by the community. The government’s appeals and directions must continue to be echoed to ask the public to follow government directions and not violate them. The circular letter above provides a little hope for villages to participate in overcoming COVID-19 in the hope that the funds managed by the village can be used intelligently and wisely. We hope that this epidemic will end soon and we can return to living a normal life and be able to carry out our activities as before.
