09/25/2019 at the Seminar Building, Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, an Academic Seminar was held for the Department of History, Sociology and Libraries with the theme “Socialization of Results, Archaeological Research on the Tanjung Ser Site, Gerokgak and Its Potential Use as a Historical Learning Resource”.
The Academic Seminar was opened by Deputy Dean II of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University I Wayan Landawan, and the material was presented by I Wayan Suantika from Bali Archeology and Putu Penti Bachelor who is a teacher at SMK Negeri 1 Gerokgak. As many as dozens of students from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences participated in the seminar.
According to Putu Penti Bachelor, the use of archaeological sites are used for the history and social studies learning process as well as site conferences so that they are useful as a source of education and preservation.
I Wayan Suantika in his material conveyed that the Kuna Settlement and Harbor at the Tanjung Ser site, Pemuteran Village, Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency was carried out as a research site because there was some archaeological evidence from a survey in 2000 in the form of the Goddess Statue and Nandi Statue at Bukit Teledu Temple in Yeh Panes Hamlet. The results of the research can be concluded as follows: although physical evidence of humans has not yet been obtained at Tajung Ser, based on the evidence of archaeological artifacts found and seeing the many thick cultural layers that are more than 100 cm, it can be confirmed that Tanjung Ser was once inhabited by many people. For quite a long time, pottery fragments in their complete form in the form of jars, pots, plates, pestles, and other things have been confirmed as tools for daily needs.
