The Law and Citizenship Department Student Association (HMJ), Ganesha Education University carried out the succession on Friday, February 21, 2020. The succession was carried out in the Undiksha Seminar Building at the same time as carrying out accountability reporting for both finances and work programs during the 2019/2020 term of HMJ management. , attended by 117 people, including 5 representatives from each class and 47 people from HMJ. This year’s succession theme is “New Leader New Story” (New leaders, new stories) through this theme, it is hoped that by combining two study programs, namely Legal Studies and Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) with second-generation Management, it can provide a new story for the new leadership.
In this case, it began with remarks from the chairman of the succession committee, Ni Kadek Satyam, Krisna Parijata, then continued with remarks from the chairman of HMJ Law and Citizenship, I Gusti Lanang Aghistanaya Yogie, who said that we should continue to maintain the spirit of unity to continue the next management even better. Apart from that, this activity also received a positive response from the Head of the Law and Citizenship Department, Dr. Dewa Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M. who also opened Succession activities, he advised to maintain close ties between the two study programs.
The next activity was reading and determining the schedule of events, and rules of conduct and then determining the presidium of the permanent session led by 3 presidiums, namely I Gusti Lanang Aghistanaya Yogie, Gusti Made Suhartana, and I Wayan Ariawan. The next event is reporting on work programs for each sector, inventory reporting by the secretary, and financial reporting by the treasurer. The next activity was conveying the vision and mission of the three candidates for chairman of HMJ with serial number 1 in the name of Gede Sastrawan, serial number 2 in the name of Kadek Diva Hendrayana, and serial number 3 in the name of Kadek Desy Pramita. After that, a question and answer session was held which consisted of 2 sessions, the first session with 7 questioners and the second session with 5 questioners. After the question and answer session ended, it was paused with a break of 2×15 minutes and then continued with a strengthening session with 10 reinforcement people along with the rationale for choosing the candidate for chairman of HMJ, while the three candidates for chairman of HMJ were isolated in different rooms.
After the strengthening was held there were quite significant differences which is why it was heldlobbying between 10 reinforcements and 3 presidium leaders. This is done to prioritize the democratic value of deliberation rather than voting with the majority of votes. From the results of lobbying It was agreed that the candidate for chairman of HMJ was serial number 2 in the name of Kadek Diva Hendrayana from the Legal Sciences study program. Next, the three candidates for chairman of HMJ returned to the room to continue with the election session for deputy chairman of HMJ. In this case, there are 2 candidates for deputy chairman of HMJ, namely Saverinus Darmin and Venny Rika. Next was a question and answer session for the two candidates for deputy chairman of HMJ. Then the answers from the three candidates for chairman of HMJ and lobbying returned to determine the deputy chairman of HMJ. Afterlobbying The progress was agreed upon by the deputy chairman of HMJ on behalf of Venny Rika from the PPKn study program. The next event was a message from the chairman and deputy of HMJ for the 2019/2020 term and remarks from the chairman and deputy of HMJ for the 2020/2021 term. At the end of the succession event, there was a symbolic handover of office by handing over the HMJ Law and Citizenship flag from the 2019/2020 HMJ chairman to the 2020/2021 HMJ chairman and a group photo session.
This activity also received a response from the Student Advisor for the Law and Citizenship Department, I Wayan Budiarta, S.Pd., M.Pd. He advised maintaining the unity of the management, establishing coordination between HMJ and PK, the Head of Department, and other lecturers, and increasing the value of democracy and the sacredness of a session that had been created by the ancestors of the previous HMJ management.
