Singaraja, located in the Seminar Room of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences on Friday, October 29, 2021, a Public Lecture was held on the Implementation Strategy for Independent Campus Learning for Students of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University, this activity took place offline while still adhering to health protocols. This activity was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, namely Prof. Sukadi, M.Pd., M Ed. and guided by Mr. I Putu Windu Mertha Sujana, S.Pd., M.Pd. who is a lecturer in Pancasila and Citizenship Education, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University.
This Public Lecture also invited two speakers, namely Dr. I Made Kartika, M.Si who is the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, at Dwijendra University, and Prof. Sukadi, M.Pd. M. Ed. who is the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University. This activity was attended by representatives of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences whose numbers were following the health protocols. Before the public lecture was held, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Dwijendra University.
This activity aims to provide knowledge about how to implement independent learning on an independent campus. In a public lecture, I Made Kartika explained about Freedom of Learning, Independent Campus, a policy of the Minister of Education and Culture, which aims to encourage students to master various knowledge that is useful for entering the world of work. Independent Campus provides the opportunity for students to choose the courses they will take. Learning on the Independent Campus provides challenges and opportunities to develop students’ creativity, capacity, personality, and needs, as well as developing independence in seeking and finding knowledge through reality and field dynamics such as ability requirements, real problems, social interaction, collaboration, self-management, performance demands, targets, and achievements. The Independent Campus Learning Program is expected to be able to answer the challenges of higher education institutions to produce graduates who are in line with current developments, advances in science and technology, the demands of the business and industrial world, as well as the dynamics of society. Meanwhile, Sukadi explained the implementation of independent learning on independent campuses where students are involved in student exchanges, internships/work practices, teaching assistance in educational units, research and P2M, humanitarian projects, etc. This is expected to improve the competence of graduates, both soft skills and hard skills, to be better prepared and relevant to the needs of the times, preparing graduates as future leaders of the nation who are superior and have personality. Programs experiential learning With flexible pathways, it is hoped that it will facilitate students to develop their potential according to their passion and talent.
On this occasion, a discussion session was also held between students and resource persons who had provided the material. At the end of this workshop activity, it was closed by handing over mementos by the Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Social Sciences to the two resource persons who had provided the material.
