Singaraja – Department of Geography, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University received a visit from Parangtritis Geomaritime Science Park (PGSP), Geospatial Information Agency, Wednesday (10/5). The visit from Parangtritis Geomaritime Science Park (PGSP), the Geospatial Information Agency also aims to hold a Public Lecture with students, especially Geography Department students. This visit was received directly by I Gede Yudi Wisnawa, S.Pd., M.Sc. as Head of the Geography Department.
The public lecture activity was opened by Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suastika, S.Pd., M.Pd. In his speech, he said that this activity was very well carried out to introduce and provide information regarding Geospatial and Gumuk Pasir to the public lecture participants which on this occasion were attended by Geography Department students. Apart from that, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suastika, S.Pd., M.Pd. welcomed the visit from the Geospatial Information Agency because it could be the first step to establishing collaboration between the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences and the Geospatial Information Agency. This public lecture was also attended by Deputy Dean II FHIS Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Made Pageh, M. Hum. as well as lecturers from the Geography Department.
The public lecture was held at the FHIS Seminar Building, Ganesha Education University. Putu Amanda Ayu Ramantari as Chair of HMJ Geography was appointed as moderator in the public lecture accompanying Putri Meissarah, S.Sc., M.Sc. as a resource person in public lectures. He is the Coordinator of the Parangtritis Geomaritime Science Park (PGSP). This public lecture took the theme, “Introduction to Geospatial Information and Sand Dunes”. During the presentation of the material, the resource person was very communicative in explaining the process of forming dunes to the public lecture participants. Then the series of public lecture activities continued with a question-and-answer discussion session.
At the end of the event, I Gede Yudi Wisnawa, S.Pd., M.Sc. as Chair of the Geography Department handed over a certificate of appreciation to the resource person, Putri Meissarah, S.Sc., M.Sc. then continued with a group photo session.
