Singaraja, Wednesday (19/8/2020)-The Anti-Corruption Study Center of the Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) held the first Focus Group Discussion (FGD I) regarding the Study of Trial Verdicts and the Utilization of Recorded Results of Corruption Crime Trials (Tipikor) (2019 Cases) in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Eradication Commission ( KPK) as a form of supervision of the trial process which violated the sense of justice, which was carried out at the Bhumi Lovina Residence, Singaraja.
The study team for the results of the recording of this trial consisted of 6 people headed by Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M, Putu Rai Yuliartini, S.H., M.H as secretary, Dr. Made Sugi Hartono., S.H., M.H as a member, and I Kadek Darma Santosa as a member. As well as two reviewers Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd, and Prof. Dr. Sukadi, M.Pd., M.Ed from academia.
“In this first FGD activity, we have a team of 6 people who will collaborate in analyzing the decision, which we will then provide a legal note (annotation) as a form of supervision of the legal products produced and the proceedings by legal officials, including practitioners. law,” said Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M.
In the FGD I activity, an annotation of the decision of case number 36/PID.SUS.TPK/2019/PN.MTR was produced. The decision annotation contains the case position of each decision, indictment, prosecutor’s demands, and the judge’s considerations which were previously reviewed in an internal team discussion and then the results of the discussion were presented to the Undiksha Anti-Corruption Study Center.
“This activity was a presentation of the results of discussions that we had previously discussed internally, the team produced several notes which were then presented in front of the Undiksha Anti-Corruption Study Center, where 3 representatives from the team itself attended, including myself,” concluded Dewa Mangku
Meanwhile, Putu Rai Yuliartini, S.H., M.H who had the opportunity to attend at that time, said that it was hoped that this FGD would be able to provide understanding for all levels of society, especially law students, regarding recording procedures in trials for criminal acts of corruption. There are also great hopes for this FGD to produce a formula to prevent corruption in the younger generation.
“We hope that this first FGD will produce study results to provide input, especially input to law enforcers, for example, judges, prosecutors, and academically we hope that this will enrich our knowledge about legal science itself,” said Rai.
The first FGD activity was also attended by students who recorded the trial within the Legal Sciences Study Program, Law and Citizenship Department, Undiksha. (hms FHIS)
