Singaraja – On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the second day of the Bali 2024 Leadership Public Test was organized by the Student Executive Board at Ganesha University of Education (BEM REMA Undiksha) at the Auditorium of Ganesha University of Education. The session featured the candidate pairs for Bali Governor and Vice Governor Candidates, No. 2, Dr. Ir. I Wayan Koster, M.M., and I Nyoman Giri Prasta, S.Sos.
The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., (The Rector of Undiksha) and included seven panelists from the Undiksha academic community. Faculty members and student organizations also attended the event. The Public commenced with a presentation by the candidate pair no. 2, outlining their vision and policies. As one of the panelists, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suastika, S.Pd., M.Pd., (The Dean of FHIS Undiksha), raised critical questions regarding the threats facing Bali’s youth, such as the spread of drugs, hidden prostitution, and gambling. He referenced recent incidents, including the arrest of a foreign tourist with a Drug Laboratory and hydroponic marijuana field at Sunny Village, Tibubeneng Village, the raid of Pink Palace Bali Spa on Mertasari Kerobokan Road, and the discovery of online gambling at Hawaii Bali Villa and Marina Suites on Tukad Balian Road. Prof. Swastika asked the pair about their policies to address and minimize these issues. The candidates responded promptly, outlining their plans to tackle these pressing concerns for Bali’s future.
