Singaraja– The achievements made by students of the Law and Citizenship Department at Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) continue. This time it came from Desak Paramitha Brata, Sella Marsellena Mercury, and I Made Riyan Cahyadi. The three of them, who were part of one team, succeeded in winning first place in the 8th Legal Debate Competition “Red Colony Law Fair 2” between students throughout Bali Province which was held by the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Law, Warmadewa University, Saturday (16/11/2019).
Marsellena Mercury said that to achieve this achievement, hard work was needed. The team not only prepares mentally but also has to master various movements. “There is a statement that says “effort will not betray the results”. “Therefore, we are trying our best to prepare debate material,” she explained.
This achievement, she continued, cannot be separated from the role of mentors, consisting of I Gusti Ayu Apsari Hadi, S.H., M.H., Dr. Made Sugi Hartono, S.H., M.H., and Si Ngurah Ardhya, S.H., M.H. “The role of this mentor is extraordinary,” she said. Regarding this achievement, this long-haired student admitted that he was very proud because she was able to present a sweet gift to the university. “I am very happy and extraordinary to be able to take part in and win this legal debate in Bali,” she said.
Apart from brilliant achievements, the competition, which was attended by 10 teams, was also used as an opportunity to improve one’s quality. “Of course, we will implement all the knowledge gained from this competition considering that law enforcement is an important thing that needs to be considered,” she concluded.
Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for this achievement because it was able to contribute to increasing the grade of the institution, both at national and international levels. “Hopefully achievements will continue to emerge from Undiksha students,” he said.
