Singaraja – Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University held a Visiting Professor Program with the theme “Development of Diplomatic and Consular Relations between Indonesia and Timor Leste” offline in the IKI Room on February 16, 2024.
The Visiting Professor activity is a new program in 2024 organized by FHIS Undiksha as a form of improving the quality of teaching and learning designed to involve professors from abroad. This Visiting Professor discusses actual legal issues in the regional and global scope so that students are expected to be able to follow current legal issues.
This agenda presents Lecturer Director do Programa de Pos-Graduacao Universidade Dili, Timor Leste., Dr. Seguito Monteiro, S.H., M.H., Universidade Dili as resource person. This activity was attended by students from the Legal Studies Program who took International Law courses as well as students from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences. Also present at this Visiting Professor were Deputy Dean 1 FHIS Prof. Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M, Dr. Ni Putu Rai Yuliartini, S.H., M.H. who is the Chair of the FHIS Quality Control Group and Ni Luh Wayan Yasmiati, S.H., M.H. who is a lecturer at the Legal Studies Study Program.
In his presentation, Dr. Seguito Monteiro, S.H., M.H., presented material related to the Development of Diplomatic Relations between Indonesia and Timor Leste. He explained that for Timor-Leste itself, bilateral cooperative relations with Indonesia are very beneficial for Timor-Leste to improve state finances, help increase economic competitiveness, increase investment, increase foreign exchange, and strengthen the trade sector.
Dr. Seguito Monteiro, S.H., M.H., also explained that the bilateral cooperative relations between Timor-Leste and Indonesia have experienced good improvements in various areas of cooperation. Of course, this improvement in relations provides good benefits for the two countries as closest neighbors. Apart from providing benefits to the country, it also provides good benefits for the people of both countries.
