Singaraja- The election of the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS) at Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) took place, on Thursday (18/7/2019). Prof. Dr. Sukadi, M.Pd., M.Ed., is again trusted to lead the 2019-2023 period. He was elected by acclamation, after the candidate, Dr. I Made Pageh, M.Hum stated that he would resign before delivering the vision and mission.
Dr. Pageh stage’s was also accompanied by a written statement submitted to the Chair of the FHIS Senate, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., who led the election. However, this history academic said he would still support the implementation of programs that would be rolled out in the future to make the faculty better.
Meanwhile, in the next four years, Prof. Sukadi carries the vision of making the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences superior in the Eastern Indonesia region based on Tri Hita Karana in 2023. It is further explained that superior means having quality output from educational graduates and non-educating professional staff, superior in the study of history and development of society and culture. local, superior in spatial/regional studies, and so on. “Excellence includes various things that are in accordance with the study programs at the faculty,” he said when confirmed after the election.
He, who still serves as dean for the 2015-2019 period, has prepared a strategic plan for the next four years. Some of them include improving the quality of human resources for lecturers and education staff by encouraging further studies and increasing the number of facilities and infrastructure for quality and characterful education and learning activities. There are also new prospective study programs and opening non-regular classes as well as pioneering international standard classes. “Improving the quality of research is also a concern. “The same goes for proposing relevant study programs at Master’s level,” he said.
According to him, to accelerate the realization of the vision, what is urgent to do is to collaborate with universities in Eastern Indonesia. Apart from that, it also takes an inventory of the potential of areas that are still “sleeping” as material for research and community service. “This is what I will do first. “Because Undiksha is trusted for the development of education in Eastern Indonesia,” he said.
He also asked for the support of the entire faculty and university academic community in the successful implementation of the program. In front of senate members, lecturers, and staff, he also “proposed to” Dr. Pageh to be able to accompany him in the leadership ranks. “I want Mr. Pageh to be able to help as Deputy Dean II,” he added. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the FHIS Senate, Prof. Lasmawan appreciated the election process which was very conducive and harmonious. He hopes that under the “captain” Prof. Sukadi, the quality of the faculty is getting better. “The hope for the new dean is that he can protect the faculty community and lead it in a better direction,” he said.
