Singaraja- The independence day of the Republic of Indonesia has reached its 74th anniversary. This momentum was colored by various activities in the community. One of them is a walking competition. Despite the increasing age of this republic, various challenges cannot be avoided. In fact, in the future, it has the potential to become even more complex. This certainly cannot be underestimated. Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) academic, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., assessed that society, especially the younger generation, must be able to translate these various challenges, including the opportunities that have been outlined and are displayed before their eyes. Steps that can be taken can be through creating work and improving thinking skills. “Thinking skills are both in understanding opportunities in the global era and managing existing challenges,” he emphasized, on Friday (9/8/2019).
The world ahead is full of uncertainty. Amid these conditions, skill and creativity are at stake. Due to this, the younger generation must fill themselves with learning and working for the benefit of society and the nation. This must also receive support from external factors. Starting from the good quality of education, including the teaching staff as well as support from the community. “There needs to be the same movement and commitment,” he said.
The Indonesian nation is great. It has a wide geographical area and large human resources too. If this can be managed well, according to academics from Bonyoh Village, Kintamani District, and Bangli Regency, this will become a new power in the world. It’s just that currently there are still problems that must be addressed together, one of which is in the field of education. Approaching the golden era in 2045, more and more young people must make achievements, both for themselves, in society, and in the nation. “There needs to be self-improvement, not giving in to problems in society is the key. Consistency in thinking, understanding cultural values , and insight into how the future is designed are three factors that the younger generation must understand,” he added. (hms)
