DENPASAR, BALIPOST.com – The massive increase in positive patients, PDP, and ODP for COVID-19 in Indonesia has prompted the government to extend the National Disaster Emergency status until 29 May 2020. Now the government has declared a health emergency and has chosen to impose large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).
The world of education has also been affected. The online learning process from home has been extended. Originally from March 16-31, it has been extended indefinitely.
Education observer, Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, SH., LL.M., Wednesday (1/4), said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the domestic situation is increasingly worrying. The government quickly issued several policies.
Specifically in the world of education, the government instructed educational institutions to change their education system to online-based. Students and students can simply study from home. This step was taken to avoid widespread transmission of the Coronavirus and to try to break the chain of spread of the virus.
However, the online learning system from home certainly creates a new atmosphere for students. Students will feel unfamiliar and unfamiliar. Because, usually they study face to face with a teacher and now they study alone at home, of course, there will be difficulties. In this condition, parents become the spearhead. Parents must replace the position of a teacher to monitor, educate, and supervise their children for distance learning or studying at home. This will be quite burdensome, but on the positive side, parents will know directly about their children’s abilities.
Academician, Dr. Ida Bagus Rajendra Suastama, SH., MH., said that in terms of infrastructure, the online-based home learning system being implemented is not yet ready. However, due to force majeure conditions, this system must be implemented.
Radendra continued, some things can be learned from implementing the online learning system. “We are all forced to become more familiar with the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0 era, as well as providing excellent evaluation material for all parties to organize more perfect distance learning in the future. “This online-based learning at home is also an opportunity for parents to instill character education in their sons and daughters,” he said.
