Singaraja– National-level achievements were again made by students of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). This time it comes from the Brawijaya Entrepreneurship in Advanced Competition (BRAVO) event which will peak on November 8, 2022.
The Undiksha team consisted of Ni Made Celin Darayani from the Law Science study program (S1), Ketut Agus Oktariawan from the Law Science study program (S1), Komang Citra Pratiwi from the Law Science study program (S1), Made Ratyudhi Harpin Dipawangsa from the Chemistry study program (S1), and Komang Trisna Ayu Widari Accounting study program (S1). This team won first place after competing with participants from various universities in Indonesia.
At this event, the Undiksha team displayed a work called BHATARA of Bali or Bag from Hata Recycling, which is a typical local Balinese product. This work is a woven bag product made from the roots of the manon plant (hata/ate) which is very often found in Bali, specifically in the mountainous area of North Duda, Karangasem.
The team representative, Celin Darayani, explained that manon roots are a type of creeping grass that has now become a raw material for making economically valuable works of art or fashion. “Utilizing natural resources will certainly create economic value from making the Bhatara of Bali,” she explained, Wednesday (9/11/2022).
The uniqueness of this product is not only from the main ingredient in the form of Manon root but more than that, it is also made with special Bali wrapping such as the scent of the product with sandal aroma, the woven form with a special Balinese carving pattern, to the packaging that is inserted with dried Cambodian (Japanese) flowers.
This student from Pancasari admitted that she had made preparations with the team from August to November 2022. Even though amid these preparations there were obstacles faced, this did not dampen her strong determination and enthusiasm until she finally succeeded in winning the championship.
In the future, this team plans to take part in international competitions and has plans to collaborate with a team from Binus University on a UV/UX design project. “We hope that what we have achieved can be continued by fellow students from other generations,” she said.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Alumni Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for this achievement because it can contribute to the Student Ranking Management System. “This is also important for students. “Hopefully in the future Undiksha students will achieve more achievements,” he said.
