Singaraja – To provide more in-depth education and information regarding the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in the campus environment, today (29/3), the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University held an outreach activity on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence for Lecturers and Students. The activity, which was held at the FHIS Undiksha Seminar Building, was attended by all lecturers, educational staff, as well as student representatives from Student Organizations within FHIS Undiksha.
This socialization was accompanied and opened directly by Dr. I Nengah Suastika, S.Pd., M.Pd. as Deputy Dean I FHIS Undiksha. He said in his speech that this socialization activity was held as a form of faculty awareness of sexual violence that might occur in the university environment, especially in faculties, and students and lecturers could prevent cases of sexual violence from occurring early. Apart from the Deputy Dean I of FHIS, this activity was also attended by the Deputy Dean III of FHIS, I Putu Ananda Citra, S.Pd., M.Sc., and Dr. Made Sugi Hartono, S.H., M.H. as Chair of the Task Force for Preventing and Handling Sexual Violence (PPKS).
Socialization material for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence was delivered by a resource person, Made Riko Wibawa, as the Daily Chair of the Integrated Service Center for the Protection of Women and Children (P2TP2A) Buleleng. The material presented by Made Riko Wibawa was very educational for the socialization participants. In delivering the material, today sexual violence has entered the realm of higher education institutions. Through Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 31 of 2021 concerning Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence, it has become a legal umbrella for handling sexual violence in higher education. Likewise, at Undiksha, a Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force has been formed to handle cases of sexual violence that occur within the institution to obtain a win-win solution or amicable resolution for the parties involved in sexual violence. During the socialization, the speaker was accompanied by a moderator from FHIS Undiksha lecturer, I Gusti Ayu Apsari Hadi, S.H., M.H. After delivering the material, the socialization participants were allowed to discuss. The students were particularly enthusiastic in the discussion session with the speaker. They ask and discuss what is happening in the surrounding environment regarding sexual violence.
The event closed by giving awards to the resource persons and moderators by Deputy Dean I of FHIS Undiksha as a form of appreciation.
