Ganesha University of Education celebrates its 27th Anniversary. The opening will take place on January 8 and the peak will be on January 16, 2020. Through this momentum, the academic community is invited to work together in harmony to make Undiksha even more superior.
Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., in his speech, said that even though the university age is still relatively young, many fundamental changes have occurred. Starting from academics full of achievements to an environment that is comfortable and full of harmony. This progress cannot be separated from the support of the entire academic community. “This is thanks to the sacrifices of all the academic community,” he explained.
Undiksha has carried the vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045. Therefore, according to him, efforts to improve quality must continue to be made. In his position as chancellor in the 2019-2023 period, Undiksha hopes to be able to move faster and be more superior. It is believed that with hard work and togetherness that has been built, this dream can be realized. “Hopefully the theme of this anniversary, “Synergy in Harmony”, can be a driving force and motivation for all of us to work together in harmony to build this university in the future,” he said.
He emphasized that changes also need to be made to answer all the demands and challenges in this era of technological disruption (Industrial Revolution Era 4.0). As an academic institution, achievements at both national and international levels continue to be encouraged. This is balanced with increasingly optimal coaching. “Undiksha must also be able to produce graduates who have character and are competent in their fields. “I also emphasized this to the ranks,” said Jampel.
The former Dean of the Undiksha Faculty of Education said that in university development, several things serve as references, namely the 9 BAN PT criteria, Higher Education Clusterization, and the Chancellor’s Performance Contract with the Minister. These three things should be stated in the Undiksha Long-Term Plan and Strategic/Business Plan. “This should not be ignored,” he said.
The largest state university in North Bali already has A accreditation status. The same thing has also been achieved by nine study programs, namely: Physical Education, Health and Recreation Study Program, Mathematics Education Study Program, Geography Education Study Program, Civic Education Study Program, Study Program History Education, PGSD Study Program, TP study Program, D3 Accounting study program, and PEP Masters Study Program. Other study programs are urged to immediately follow suit. “I also want to prepare study programs that have been accredited as Superior to obtain international accreditation,” he continued.
More specifically, Chancellor Jampel discussed targets for 2020. It is hoped that there will be more international activities to provide international experience to the entire Undiksha academic community, both through student exchange and faculty exchange programs. One of the superior programs is the Fast Track Program (Double Degree Program) in collaboration with Ming Chi University of Technology. “I will send some of Undiksha’s best students to MCUT starting September 2020. “I hope that through this activity we can improve Undiksha’s branding image as an academic institution,” he added.
